Original Shilajit: What to Check Before Buying

“Original” is a search term, not a test result. Product identity and quality need documentation that connects to the actual item you receive.

Start with a traceable pack

Look for a manufacturer, batch number, expiry date, complete ingredient list and serving instructions. These details help identify the product and provide a starting point for questions if something is unclear.

A honey blend should be labelled as a blend. Shivvra contains shilajit, honey and saffron; it is not a sachet of standalone resin. The words pure or original should not obscure that formulation difference.

Ask what the certificate actually measures

A report is useful when it identifies the sample and batch, names the laboratory and lists the tests with results and units. For honey sticks, ask whether the finished blend or only a raw ingredient was tested.

Identity testing and contaminant testing answer different questions. A report for honey alone does not establish shilajit identity, and a report for a different batch does not automatically describe your tin. This page does not certify any Shivvra batch as original or contaminant-free.

Why home tests cannot settle authenticity

Colour, stretching, dissolving and flame demonstrations cannot establish the full identity, contents or safety of a product. A honey blend behaves differently from resin, making those comparisons especially misleading.

Shivvra’s honey is dark because it includes shilajit. That is an appearance characteristic, not a purity guarantee. Do not use risky heating or flame tests on a product you plan to consume.

What to do when something does not match

If the batch number differs from the report, the sachet is leaking or a label detail is missing, pause and ask the seller. Keep the pack and report together so the mismatch can be addressed clearly.

Authorities have warned about contamination in certain Ayurvedic products. That warning supports asking careful questions; it is not a finding about Shivvra or proof that every shilajit product is unsafe.

Common questions

Does black colour prove original shilajit?

No. Colour alone does not prove identity, declared content, purity or safety.

Can I verify purity from a product photograph?

No. A photograph can show packaging and appearance, but not the composition or contaminant levels of the contents.

Evidence & further reading

Educational information, not medical advice. Ingredient research does not prove the effects of Shivvra’s finished blend. Follow your pack’s directions and seek qualified advice about suitability. No batch report has been assessed on this page.
